The Skoda Citigo is a city car produced by Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda Auto since 2011. It is built in Bratislava , Slovakia .
The car was launched in the Czech Republic in October 2011. It will be sold in other countries of Europe in summer 2012, as well as Asian (except Japan and Korea ) and Russian markets. There will be a three-door version and also a five-door version. Two engine options are available. Boot space is 251 litres, or 951 litres with the rear seats folded down. The drag coefficient is 0.33.
The car shares the same Volkswagen Group NSF platform with the Volkswagen up! and the SEAT Mii , as a result of the New Small Family project. Along with its two sisters, the Citigo is the first car in its class to offer an automated braking system – called “City Safe Drive” by Škoda. The system is automatically activated at speeds below 30 km/h (19 mph) as a laser sensor identifies a danger of collision and activates the brakes.
Citigo is the first Skoda to be available as three-door since VW Group takeover in the early nineties.
